State to invest $400bn by 2014

A government investment programme in oil and other sectors was expected to total more than $400 billion (R4.07 trillion) over the next five years, Saudi Arabian king Abdullah said at the weekend in Washington.


He said the spending was targeted at helping to shore up the region's economy in the face of the financial crisis. – Sapa-AP
