August 14, 2009

Yesterday's headline on an article related to an audit of shareholders' votes at SABMiller's recent annual general meeting (AGM) gave the erroneous impression SABMiller was on a witch-hunt or alternatively spying on its shareholders.

SABMiller's corporate advisers JP Morgan Cazenove were entitled to attempt to establish the identity of shareholders who had voted against certain resolutions or who had abstained.
