France - New 'Big Loan' will raise e35bn  Comments

France yesterday unveiled a report with plans to raise tens of billions of euros in new borrowing just as its EU partners are being urged to reign in stimulus packages. The so-called Big Loan programme is a e35 billion (R390bn) public spending package aimed at renewable energy and broadband internet. It was initiated by President Nicolas Sarkozy to fuel economic growth. - Sapa-AP
