This shops must compete about sponsoring the poor and disabled. Their competion must be again on specials and low pricing. All we woluld like to hear will be their offering to the people because we are buying from them everyday. Their prices are always going up so what? I just can't wait for some big competators to show up and join the competition so that their prices might go down and these noise will be low a bit.

I'm bigger than you.....No, I'm bigger than you.....hahahaha!!!!! Who's fanning these flames of disagreement, Julius? The "I'm bigger than you" argument belongs in a schoolyard, why don't PnP's head and Shoprites head go into the playground and fight for bragging rights...then we the consumers can also get caught up in the childishness and shoult "fight, fight, fight"!

Let me tell you that Pick n Pay and Shoprite are so cosy with their suppliers that you are paying double the price for non-foods that you should be.

To me it is sooo totally irrelevant who has the biggest market share. What is important to me, is who has the better and greater "specials".....myself and quite a few other people I know of, actually now compare prices before they do monthly shopping. Something I would never have dreamed of doing a year ago, but right now when money is so tight, I dont mind wasting a half an hour comparing prices before doing my shopping...

This is the business report, if this has nothing to do with your industry then why make a stupid comment that it's not newsworthy.Totally myopic!! This article is VERY useful to any supplier or anyone that does business with retailers.

who cares about about your market share, as long as you still fixing prices by colluding you are nothing but greedy individuals who will stop at nothing to enrich themselves by milking the poor.
These two giants should stop this stupid argument because we not interested and also stop anti competitive behaviour.

LOL
ok so maybe the stiffs at picknpay and shoprite find this newsworthy but trust me the general public could not be bothered.
Give us real value for money instead of fattening your own pockets.
Even though they may profess to care about the consumer it all boils down to business so they're still looking to make maximum profit off the man in the street.
