BIDFREIGHT: Involved in containerised cargo and air freight. Trading profit rose 11.2 percent to R768.1 million due to cost cutting while efforts to broaden the customer base counteracted volume pressures.
BIDSERV: Manufactures and distributes a complete range of industrial supplies, including workwear and safety equipment. Trading profit rose 11.4 percent to R933.9m as businesses improved efficiencies and optimised management.
BIDVEST EUROPE: Includes 3363 First for Foodservices in the UK and other foods businesses in Europe. Trading profit fell 12.5 percent to R770m. The group closed six wholesale division depots with wholesale revenue being flat in the review period.
BID AUTO: Involved in motor vehicle retailing and service groups. Bid Auto offers leading motor brands through more than 130 dealerships and service outlets, backed by financial and fleet services, and is an online retailer of new and used vehicles. Trading profit fell 32.3 percent to R502.9m as the vehicle market faced growing pressure.
BIDVEST BANK: Operates more than 80 bank branches in South Africa. Trading profit increased by 56 percent from R117m to R183m on the back of new products and the opening of new branches in the review period.
