First Data buys CashAxcess

First Data had agreed to buy CashAxcess, an ATM deployment company, from VenFin and Mvelaserve, it said yesterday. CashAxcess provides outsourced ATM services to banks such as Mercantile, Capitec and Absa. George Zafirakis, the vice-president for US-based First Data's international emerging markets, said: "The combination of (CashAxcess's) considerable ATM expertise and knowledge of the local business environment coupled with First Data's scale and global experience will ensure we can deliver an enhanced service to clients in South Africa." - Thabiso Mochiko
