Sharp would raise production of LCD panels for televisions to meet improving global demand, the Japanese electronics maker said yesterday. Sharp, the Osaka-based maker of Aquos televisions, will boost production by 10 percent to 100 000 a month after August at one of its plants in Kameyama, which makes so-called "eighth-generation" panels. - Sapa-AP
