Aluminium: Bayside smelter to slash output July 1, 2009
BHP Billiton would stop some output at its Bayside aluminium smelter in Richards Bay at the end of September as demand weakened. The smelter, which employs 600 full-time staff and 300 contractors, would stop casting rod and billet, but would supply slab metal. - Bloomberg
