November 11, 2008
The demand for specialist technology skills was still benefiting Paracon, with full-year revenues reaching R916 million despite the local economic slowdown and scarcity of skills, the firm said yesterday.
It delivered 17 percent growth in earnings to R86 million for the year to September. Turnover rose 16 percent to R916 million, while cash generated by operations grew 25 percent to R100 million.
It has declared a dividend of 11c a share. Mark Jurgens, the chief executive, said that while the skills shortage was a challenge for Paracon, it also offered opportunities.
The demand for skills continued to outstrip supply, with a large number of vacancies. - Thabiso Mochiko
